Hello All;
We are in the process of designing a potager garden.
We would like to find a RELIABLE automatic watering system that has a 4-6 zone programable timer with a rain sensor and a soil dampness sensor. Anyone have any thoughts or experiences?

Wish I could help. I have no info.

RE: Auto. watering system

I just saw a little blurb in Sunset magazine (August issue) about that very thing. It was called WeatherTrak by HydroPoint, but seemed like it might be very expensive. I have no personal experience with it, but you might do a search on it and see what you can find.

I have a drip irrigation system in my potager that has only one valve, and I can tell you that I do a lot of hand watering of lettuce and watermelons, because I do not want to overwater other veggies. It would be useful to have a system that allowed me to water tomatoes on one time setting and row crops on another.

(Please Note: Due to technical difficulties with my home computer, I'm writing this from the local public library, and won't be able to respond to any additional comments in this post, as I won't be back here for some time.)
