I like the new arches. The herb and rose garden is going to look and smell wonderful. It reminds me a bit of a medieval garden where the lady of the manor could sit and stitch or snip some herbs to make her simples.

What a great view from the kitchen garden? Is that a stand of white birches?

Thank you. I got a little arch happy, but they're so cheap and they are great for growing anything that climbs...and isn't too heavy! LOL

It is kind of a formal design, but it's a nice contrast with all the wilderness. I really like it and I'm hoping it will all turn out to look as good, as it does in my head :)

The trees are aspens, at least that's what people have told us. We also have poplars, but these are smaller and turn such a beautiful shade of gold in the fall. I'll try to take another picture of the trees, when they're really gold, if the rain doesn't knock the leaves off.

LL - your gardens are an oasis for the eyes & the body with those benches & arches. I love the way height adds that mystery and romance when vines are growing up & through. Imagine date night with your hubby in your own garden! I posted on your link at Cottage Gardens and said I'd post about lasagna gardening so others could find the tips easier. It's been the method that has kept me gardening despite physical limitations. I'll post it separately.
