can you identify this grass??????

I got it from a vacant lot some one had dumped it on(you could tell it had been potted)...it grew in water there and survived so I wanted it! It now stands 6 1/2 feet tall easily with plumes higher....It remineds me of a sugarcane...but it isn't that thick...

Looks like it could be Miscanthus giganteus.
