there are grass selective herbicides. not sure about cool season grass herbicides but if u spray the grass selective early enough in the spring, the warm season wont be up yet.

as to a date for this in your part of the world, i am not sure because ur out of my playing field.

but...fescue has never been much of a problem. just keep burning and allow time. i think u will find that it goes away and ur natives will outcompete.

I have heard of two grass-selective herbicides that can be used to control fescue -- BUT they must be sprayed between late fall and early spring, when warm-season grasses are dormant. They are:

Select herbicide (active ingredient clethodim)
Plateau (active ingredient imazapic)

As mentioned above, glyphosate (roundup, etc) can also be used on cool-season grass plots during these same seasons. And it is cheap!

Is it possible to buy imazapic as a consumer? I have a japanese stiltgrass infestation and I've heard that Plateau (impazapic) is effective as a pre-emergent herbicide.
