fescue removal

My very first attempt at prairie resotration was a half acre bottomland field with rich well drained soil that had been previously been used as a pasture.

The restoration project is now four years old and the native forbs and grasses are doing pretty well.

however, In my haste to get this project up and running I probably failed to take enough time and effort to totally eliminate the existing fescue and its seed resevoir. Consequently there is still a considerable amount of the unwanted grass in this field.

I will do a late spring burn to try to disrupt the fescue, but if this is ineffective am looking for input and ideas as to what I can do to hurt the fescue without hurting the native stuff.

I cant remember the name, but I read somewhere that there is a herbicide that works on cool season grasses without harming the forbs and warm season grasses.
