Need Help with 08 Hardy Seeds

Hi, Gardeners,
Had back surgery(too much bending over in the garden) to repair a blown out lombar disc in November after gathering a multitude of seeds. Then, had two more back surgeries when chips kept braking off the disc. My question is; I'm just now able to plant hardy seeds like joe pye weed, cone flowers, black eyed susan, etc. Is it too late? Should I put them in the freezer (heard that somewhere), or just throw them in the beds and take my chances. I'm about to start some seeds inside. Should I do tha?. I know some seeds need a cold period to germinate. Thanks for all you help.
Margie

I'm in a colder zone than you are and am trying winter sowing for the first time. You could try that or post your question on the Winter Sowing Forum. They are a very friendly group.

Here is a link that might be useful: Winter Sowing Forum
