In order for Indiangrass to continue to live does It have to have fire? I got a plot of acreage I'm going to put some Indiangrass on and there is noway I would be able to burn It like they do in prairies due to some situations. Anyway just wondering to any that has this grass a growing If you HAVE to have fire to maintain Indiangrass? Without fire would it eventually decline and keep declining till It was extinct?

I think that with most prairie plants a close mowing once a year will help control encroaching woody vegetation. Without fire you just might have to be more vigilant about weeds.
