The needlegrass is also filling in well but the CA natve wildflowers steal the show! Sadly the blazing star didn't come up. I have lots of wallflower growing well that should bloom next year.

I really enjoyed your photos! I too have blue grama grass, but only along the "Hell strip" between the sidewalk and the street. We live in a suburban neighborhood where everyone loves their blue grass lawns and I'm afraid our grama grass is rather a curiosity to them. We leave it unmown because we love the seed heads. The city hasn't forced us to mow it yet, so the neighbors must not be too mad! The early morning sun coming through it is stunning. I go stand in the street just to get a good eye-full! Molly

Thanks! I mow about once a month and let it go to seed each year (well, this is just the second year). It doesn't grow too tall, but tall enough that my son can't find his ball easily. That's why I mow it occasionally, but just to 3-4".

I love the sun in it too, and the wind beats it down just like a real grassland, blowing across sections.
