So much more info needed Evelene. What color is the flower? Is it lily-like? Is it small and pink? Did you find it in shade or sun? Wet or dry conditions?

It would sound like Foxglove. They have been especially beautiful this Spring. They are from white to darker purple or mauve. Some of mine were over 6' until the rains came.

I finally found them, they are Yucca filamentosa. They are not a wild flower at all, someone had to put them there. I think this was an old home place, but we have lived her for 11 years and they have never bloomed before. They look like pointy tulips hanging upside down on the stalk. They were beautiful.
