| April...now that I've looked at various Agrimonia sp. I am seeing that they have smaller leaflets in between the larger leaflets. Also learned that they usually have no more than 7 leaflets per leaf and they are usually odifereous...the larger ones on my plant are no more than 2" long and have 11 to 13 leaflets with none growing in between. There are small white hairs on both upper and lower side. The wirey stems are red and also have hairs. The plant as a whole is only about 5" tall. I'm sure I'm not getting a discription of them all but so far that is pretty much the common description for the different ones so far. Thanks, Vera |

| Well, I posted on the Name That Plant forum and there it was ID as European Mountain Ash (Sorbus acuparia) which is also in the Rosaceae family. I kept thinking about this as well but was not sure and I thought it impossible. I did learn this tree in one of my Plant ID classes but those were mature trees. I guess I better get moving it somewhere else! Vera |
