is it too late

| I started a wildflower meadow 5 years ago. Usually when you plant seeds, the first year has a few flowers and each year after, you have more. For me, the first couple years were fantastic and now clover is taking over. I admit, I have been neglectful because I was putting in lots of flower gardens, ponds, and a veggie garden. But I didn't expect the dismal results I have had this year. My flax is all but gone. The coreopsis has mostly died out. The asters, coneflowers, blackeyed susans and gaillardia are hanging in there. But now what? Do you think I can get in there and get rid of the clover then replant or it is too late and hopeless? Any advice on the easiest, most practical way to get rid of the clover will be most apprecitated. Thank you.

| You need to burn it.... hopefully its in area where you can do a controlled burn. If you are not trained in prescribed burning, I would recommend that you hire an expert to do it for you. |

| Just plant perenials all over wherever you kill your clover and weeds with Round up. Plant lots of spring bulbs now or look for sales in October or even November. You can do this until the ground freezes. Don't do anything requiring lots of hard work. you'll have a wild garden next year. Plant a few small trees like crab apple too. Enjoy your wild garden/meadow/lawn in one. No borders! It's supposed to be wild. Dare to be unconventional (wild.) |
