Mowed to two-three inches

To make a long story short, I mowed half my lbs/forbes yesterday as advised because of its being covered with tens of thousands of Queen Ann's lace blooms ready to make seed. I will finish mowing today. I've had to mow and mow to break up those tough stems of q.a.l. In short, I ended up mowing everything to about two-three inches high. Is that too short for the wildflowers to regrow? i.e., DID I KILL MY FLOWERS?
Thanks, Joe
