OK...I need some advice/help for a rookie...

I have been reading this board for a long time and have finally taken the plunge.Last weekend I picked out an area about 50 yds. x 20 yds in my back yard (I have a 3 acre lot) and did the first treatment of round-up. My plan is to treat it 2 more times between now and early September, wait 2-3 weeks and sow the wildflower seed mix directly onto the plot. Next year I will mow to prevent weeds. Questions...what am I overlooking (my goal is to have mixture native grass/wildflowers)? Who do you recommend as a supplier of quality seed, which I understand to be critical to this project? I am in the upper Cumberland plateau area of Tennessee (between Nashville and Knoxville).Any words of help/encouragement/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If it snows in TN, I would wait to sow any seed just before you are due to get some snow cover...I'm in zone 5b-6a and didn't sow until mid October...otherwise your looking at the possibility of a feeding zone for birds and other critters such as mice before they find their winter homes.
As for locating any suppliers of native seed in TN, I've searched for the last hour on-line and come up with nothing. I keep looking.
