Germinating Artemisia filifolia

Posted by emillersa1 Texas (My Page) on

We recently purchased sand sage (Artemisa filifolia) seeds and would like to germinate them for plants. I have read that some growers place the seeds in a frig at 50 degrees F for 30 days before germination. I would be interested to know how others germinate seeds like sand sage. Has anyone successfully grown sand sage?

RE: Germinating Artemisia filifolia

hello,
i read your post about Sand Sage seeds/germination. did you ever have any luck with them?
I was told here in Santa Fe to just toss the seeds out on the surface and let them do their thing, but so far, I have seen none! with the intense winds we get here, they probably sprouted in the next county over. I have read, that the seeds do not like to be buried at all when planted.
curious what you have learned and if you got any to grow.
they are really great looking plants.
thanks
rob
