We just found a large unfamiliar thistle rosette: bright shiny green, visible points on deeply cut leaves but not at all prickly; the "leaflets" have a wide connection to the center vein, occasionally overlapping neighbors. At this stage the plant is NOT thorny at all. We may have to wait until next year when it should bloom for identification as most ID's seem to be on the flower stem and blossom. I'll try for a picture next time I'm there.
