| So after many months of waiting and two roundup applications, my bed is finally ready to be seeded. I am simply waiting for a non-windy day to finish seeding it. I'll post follow up pics in the summer.

| Nice photo. I did round-up three times this summer and am seeding now. I have been communicating with Ohio Prairie Association about seeding and John at OPA has been so helpful and gracious to a new prairie planter. I am planting about 2 acres by hand. I have recently completed about 3/4 acre and am looking forward to more very soon. I am doing native grasses and forbs. I planted on the snow which was the way for me to monitor the amount of seed as well as where I seeded and did not seed. I have also been doing a forb mix and individual forbs that I have collected from the GW seed exchange. The bad part of all this is that I worked so hard to get the land ready and now planted to learn that I have to keep it mowed this next summer for weed control. I am going to take the advice because all of the advice so far fro OPA and others has paid off. I took quite a few pics of sowing and the land getting prepared. I am going to post sometime soon. I wish you the best in your endeavors. I wish more folks would be planting. Best regards, Greg |
