Gardens to visit in Southern Spain?

Posted by gcorman AZ (My Page) on

Hi.

I'm a landscape designer in AZ and I'm going to southern Spain this October. I wish to line up a trip that includes a few well known gardens plus little known places that will inspire my work. I'm hoping to avoid areas that are big tourist haunts with some exceptions like the Alhambra.

Any designers/architects out there who have been to the area and know of places that exhibit exceptional design? I'd appreciate any ideas.

Thanks.

Sorry, can't recommend other gardens, but make sure you visit the Generalife/Alhambra either one hour before closing or first thing in the morning. Hardly anybody around and lots of great photo opportunities with interesting light effects.

Enjoy.
