taxable inventory

every year we have the same problem dealing with 'taxable inventory in January"

As a grower, with zero hard goods, in truth I have zero taxable inventory in January. Even if I were to have say $100,000 worth of finished plant material in April, it's worth in January would be very little if anything. I'm not going to claim that I have $100,000 worth of inventory, as it just isn't true, and frankly I don't feel like paying for things I don't even know if I'll sell....

so we basically make up a number for what it could possibly be worth....

how do you other growers deal with this situation?

thanks

drew
