Best horticulture/grower magazines & GH being moved

| I'm looking for horticulture/grower magazines. We just moved my first greenhouse (used) to our property TODAY! I'm very excited about the possibilities. For now it will be a large hobby house but I may have a weekend plant sale next spring and see how that goes. Growing plants for a living would be wonderful, but I am a teacher and there are many rewards there, too, and a steady paycheck, and insurance...and summers off to grow flowers...not thinking I'll be quitting soon anyway. My new structure is 14X24. Here's a link to pictures of my husband and other family members moving it to our house if anyone is interested. Anyway, back to the posting, if anyone has any suggestions for great magazines or books, too, I'd be interested.
Thanks,
Lynn |

Dear soy, American Nurseryman (trade mag and a great hort. publishing company) and Horticulture (gardening mag for the American Horticultue Society), are probably two of the best (IMHO). Both have web sites. I would give you the e-mail addies but not near them at the moment. Like the soy candle site....yeah!!!! |

| Thanks for the compliment! Soy is great for the environment and American farmers, too. Thanks for info. on magazines, I'll be sure to order them. I'm sure they will be easy to find online. Lynn |

| from a professional standpoint, I'd recommend Greenhouse Grower, published by Meister, and GMPro, published Branch-Smith publishing. Both are excellent publications, geared to the greenhouse grower, whether annual, pot crops, etc. by the way, great pics! oh my goodness, I would love to have a house like that at my own personal home, I'm drooling! I agree with PP...additionally PPGA Bulletin (Professional Plant Growers Association);OSU Publications; Hort.Science Publications;(I like the APS (disease) journals personally) if native plants are of interest:Forest Nursery Notes (literature resources); Proceedings;Native Plants Journal; ....was dissatisfied with Am.Nurseryman but perhaps the publication has improved...I don't know |
