Question about Microscope----

Hello every one, I am new to this site and have enjoyed reading all your questions and responses...and can see that there are a lot of knowledgeable people here.

That's why I'm asking this question here. I am a hobby gardener and do a lot of pollinating of daylilies. I have several hundred vials of daylily pollen in my freezer and need to clear out some that is probably no longer any good. I want to buy a microscope but have no earthly idea what kind to look for, how much to spend, (not more than a few hundred), what magnification I need, mono or bi eye piece and on and on. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would like to know what I need for viewing pollen to determine if it still looks good or if is is fraying, or falling apart.

Thanks so much for any info.......
