Here it's tomato plants in March.

Isn't it odd that the longer you keep bedding plants into the early summer, the more they have cost to maintain, the better they look, the bigger they are, and the less people want to pay for them.

As a Northern Californian I am totally perplexed about your dilemma.

Probably just as much as if you were to come to my 'hood and be shocked out of your britches when you see our real estate prices.

The things we gotta put up with to live in the areas that we do.

Mich........they come in a good two months before the snows stop and ask if they can buy them when they are tiny seedlings. They want to take them home and keep them in their garages until spring. You get calls late at night in March, with questions about whether garbage bags over them will keep them from freezing. When you flat - out refuse to sell them just because you are ethical, then they get mad and go find somebody who will. I lost a fairly large wholsale account because I kept trying to hold off the first delivery until they had a chance of survival.

as per the real estate prices.....yeah..........I see it on HGTV. Even a burger flipper here could buy a comperable two bedroom house you guys get half a million for. I can handle a lot of snow for that.

Mich, I hear what you're saying, Seems odd not being able to plant year round. Yeah home prices are getting out of hand here in So. Calif. A 2 bedroom with 1 bath house down our street just sold for 3/4 million.
