I'd like to hire someone to help me develop plans for the garden, develop a year-round maintenance schedule and do the delicate work I can't trust my lawn guys to do (hand pruning, deadheading, delicate transplanting). I want to do work in the garden myself, but I need both professional insight as well as more hands than I've got. Ideally, I'd like to hire the future me after I've had years of garden experience - this is only my first year, and while I've got big dreams, I need hands-on expertise :)

I've worked with landscape designers who are good at hardscaping, making schematics, and implementing big changes but can't be bothered with details like color schemes, bloom time, and plant height. I think now I'm looking for a professional gardner, am I right?

What terms should I be googling? Are there professional association websites to check out? (I live in the Boston area FYI) Thank you!
