Needing source for unrooted perennial cuttings

Hello,
I have a small plant business and it is quickly growing. I have annuals under control for now, but I have no source for unrooted cuttings for my perennials. Does anyone on here supply them or have a source for them. Im not needing very many of them, so large minnimum orders wont suit too well.
Thanks,
Nathan Nordstedt

RE: Needing source for unrooted perennial cuttings

Ball and Yoder Bros. have unrooted cuttings. Unfortunately, they each have minimums that may be more than you need. I get cuttings from Yoder Bros.-Minimum 100 per variety, 3000 cuttings per order. Most cuttings are 10 to 15 cents a piece. They are so cheap however, that I can afford to throw away up to 50% of a variety that I don't need 100 finished plants of. For smaller quantities, what about ordering rooted cuttings in 72 or 32 count trays from the many suppliers out there? Most tray minimums are very low- like 4 to 6 trays per order in most cases.
Try contacting a broker like: Germania, Harris Seed or Yoder Bros. Brokers deal with many different growers and compile availability lists/catalogs all in one place. I know that it seems a lot more expensive to buy in trays but when you figure in your time for sticking the unrooted cuttings and the cost of rooting them (keeping them heated in the winter, cool in the summer), not to mention the variability of rooting success, it isn't that much more. You can spend your time propagating the items that you can't find elsewhere. At least, that's the model we use at my nursery.
