Blueberry/Scupernong farm for sale

Posted by theberrypatch4sale Alabama (My Page) on

I own a 10 acre blueberry/scupernong farm in Hueytown, Al named The Berry Patch. While I know you may not be interested in buying another farm, I thought you may know someone who might.
My father worked this farm for years and left it to me when he died. There are around 4 acres of mature scupernongs and blueberries which are watered by a well with a drip irrigation system. There are more customers than we can handle but we live so far away, we can no longer manage it.
If you or anyone you know are interested, please contact me. I live in Virginia and would like to sell this property to someone who would like to continue what my dad started. Also, if you have any suggestions or ideas on how to sell a berry farm, I would appreciate it.
Thanks for your help,
Chris

RE: Blueberry/Scupernong farm for sale

Hi,
I understand your problem. Have you tried to advertise with a realtor who specializes in farm land in your area?
They would probably need to see a balance sheet on the earnings capability, amount of taxes and assessed land value.
Does it have any improvements such as a house or trailer? Are there road improvements, near schools and shopping.
Think of all the positives that this sort of enterprise could bring to the prospective buyer, and tell them about how wonderful it would be to own this piece of producing property.
Also, take a lot of pictures of the land and the area. People want to see what it looks like from every angle.

Is the property still available?

I think it must be. I found a sale ad when trying to look up info on whether I could still go pick at that farm!
