| Why would you do seed ger? Most people here can't give them away. We just picked up a large order from a grocery store chain that are dropping all seed ger. to go with veg. zonals. We don't grow anything else. |

| Both have their plus sides. If somebody wants to put in hundreds of plants, seed is the way to go. Seed grown plants can also be produced extremely economically and are usually the ones sold for the cost conscious. They are also cleaner as far as virus and pathogens than non-virus indexed stock, and unless you get the zonals from a breeder with a heft royalty, they may not be virus indexed. Some of the seed grown can be very floriferous. I've seen the multibloom line grown so well it is bursting with blooms to rival a zonal anyday. I do both. I have narrowed the cutting produced line to the very fancies such as Mrs. Pollack. Believe it or not the orange appeal and black magic seed grown outsold them hands down. |
