Tulip Poplar

Zone 8......I have a Tulip Poplar that has some sort of borer....I see small piles of saw dust near base of tree. This tree has been stressed because of new construction. It is massive and I would hate to lose it. What is the recommended pesticide to spray with? It is also losing a lot of leaves.

You generally do not spray for borers. Since they are internal and unaffected by topical sprays you need some sort of systemic to control them.

It would be best if you consulted with a certified arborist to diagnose precisely what is gong on with your tree and how best to mitigate it.
