harvesting oriental bittersweet

I have a large oriental bittersweet vine that needs to be eradicated, but at the same time I want to keep the berries to sell or give to the harvester so they can use. My question is how vigilant must I be that the berries aren't used in a way that can promote their distribution and growth? Can the berries be used in outdoor wreaths, or do birds really pick at them? Is it okay to use the berries for indoor use? Should I include a tag on each branch of berries instructing that when they are to be discarded, to throw them in the garbage and not outside? Or, should I not worry so much, and at least make progress by killing the plant?

RE: harvesting oriental bittersweet

Harvesting with the berries on is almost guaranteed to promote spreading. Instead, harvest prior to seed set and market the vines to basket makers.
