there is probably no right or wrong answer to this question, however, here goes: on visiting the montreal botanic garden i noted that all trees and shrubs which were cultivars showed ""HORT" as the place of origin. they appear to be saying that the culivar of a species is not considered to be "From" the same area as the species. gardens in the states seem to disregard the cultivar status and still refer to country etc as the place of origin. which, if either of these, is the correct approach? thanks.

p.s i have a small boscage and i am in the process of labelling the plants.
