Direct planting of IBA treated cuttings.

I am interested in knowing if anyone has tried, or has an opinion on my idea of treating red osier dogwood cuttings with IBA hormone and then direct planting to field sites. This is to avoid potting and raised bed efforts and time. The cuttings are readily available and free and at the site where the new plants would be planted.

Any help out there?
