Is it possible to root a new growth cutting of a hybrid witch hazel ? A friend of mine has a beautiful tree which blooms maroon in winter, and I cant seem to find one locally. Any recomendations or coments will be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Witch Hazel cutting

I've never done it and I've heard that Hamamelis are tricky from cuttings. It might be worth hunting around the base of your friend's shrub to see if there are any natural layers or offsets already rooted there.

Here is a link that might be useful: Hamamelis
