Depends on the plants you are trying to root. Some will root. Some will rot.

For the plants that do really well in these systems, they would probably work equally well in a high perlite soil mix with good humidity. And then the roots won't have adjust to soil.

My 2 cents.

I have one . Save your money . They root the easy stuff really well . The hard to root are still failures . I was disappointed .

Actually, I don't want one for the difficult-to-root cuttings, I want to make cuttings of a variety of plants and no longer have access to a propagation house.

How did you find the handling of the rooted cuttings as far as potting up went? What I mean is, I have only ever potted up cuttings that have been rooted in a cutting mix (course sand, a little peat and some perlite) (and later, at a different place, perlite and peat, 7:1 ratio). And I would like to know how easy to difficult it is to handle roots of cuttings made in such an enviroment as an areoponic set up. Did the roots 'stand alone' or did they try to clog together as though withdrawn from water?
