supermarket rosemary?

I've read that when trying to grow rosemary plants it's best to use cuttings as the germination rates for the seeds are quite low. I was in the supermarket today thinking about this when I saw packaged rosemary stems in the produce aisle. The packages claim that they're fresh so I was wondering if it'd be possible to get them to root. I would imagine that the stems have been refrigerated. Would that be a problem? I'd love it if this works. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!
