I mix the seed with a SMALL amount of sand mix then apply to the seed bed. But only on those seed I cannot get "pelitized"

Put the small seed in a salt or sugar shaker with a little sand. Makes it easy to plant them without getting them all clumped together.

I'm a hydro grower and plant one seed at a time. I merely scatter the dry seed on my bench, then with a pencil wetted from my tongue, I stick it to a small seed and transfer it to my growing medium.

I used to grow lettuce and have seeded literally thousands of heads this way. I now grow strawberries and tomatoes. I use this method for the tomatoes too, by the way.

These methods sound fine for the seeds mentioned above, but for really small seeds (begonias, gesneriads, bletillas, etc), I mix a bit of very fine sand (the consistency of talcum powder - I've used sifted permatill in the past) with the dust-like seeds, put the whole mixture on a white paper plate, and tap it gently to distribute the whole mixture over the surface.
