rooting quince cuttings

I am getting some quince cuttings and have read that dormant cuttings with rooting hormone will work for them. doesn anybody have any experience or thoughts on this? thanks

HAD SOME SUCCESS WITH DORMANT CUTTINGS but HAVE HAD EXCELLENT RESULTS USING CUTTINGS OF FIRM NEW GROWTH...

My dormant ones rotted last year. I had them outside with other cuttings. The others were more successful. I would do as mentioned and use new growth in the spring.
