Will umbrella plant regrow if cut off at ground ?

Are you talking about Schefflera?
If so, I cut mine back to an inch above soil, and it sprouted multiple branches back nicely.

the pieces you cut can be layed sideways in lengths with about three "nodes",they'll grow.you'll have several.
