The zz plants I started from leaf cuttings at least 6 or more months ago all have tubers but no stems or leaves yet. One of them I started at least a year ago and still nothing above ground to show for it. I don't over water them because I know, like jades, they seem to do better with a little neglect. When I do fertilize them, I use what I call worm poop, the liquid collected from my worm trays, which the rest of my plants seem to thrive on. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I have not had this problem since I also have a piece of stem attached to leaf.

I now have a 1 foot tall plant from 3 leaves started YEARS ago. East window, 3 leaves, never let them totally dry out. Buried half way under the potting soil. Very little fertilizer. I tossed them after a year- that's when I discovered they had grown a little bulb, so I potted them back up and evenually they started sprouting on top. You can see pics of this in one of my photobucket albums. maybe the one called tropical plants or houseplants. member name cheerpoeple there too. hope it helps---
