Aged bark fines are a primary component of the mix that I use for container grown plants, including house plants. The potting medium I purchase is mostly bark, then peat, and perlite. It's got some vermiculite in it, but that's an almost worthless ingredient, I think. I add more perlite and Turface MVP and grantite grit (feed store) for added porosity. Porosity is the name of the game, in my opinion.

Has anybody tried using pure turface as a media for cuttings?

I haven't bought Turface yet, but I located it at a local seed plant. ie a place that sells grass seed for parks, etc. They also carry the Turface for playing surfaces. You could try looking for a source like that.

I already have turface that I am using for container plants and now I am looking to use it for cuttings but was hoping someone else had experience with this idea.
