Hydrangeas

Hi!

Ive got three stems that I took out of a florist bouquet (however you spell that). They are wider than a pencil, maybe one of those fat pencils they give you in Kindergarden (when I was in it anyway).

Anyway, Ive trimmed them down to about 6 inches. They are growing some shoots and leaves but no roots yet. I think I should let the stems grow for a while, and then snip those off and using rooting powder. Does that sound right?

You did not say but I will guess these are in a water glass with water only. Wait until they grow roots about an inch long then plant them very carefully as the roots will be very fragile, in a planting mix. While in the water glass change the water frequently to add oxygen needed for root growth. Al

Can you add an aspirin to help the oxygen?
