I been growing annulas under lights for a month or two now and they are rather big so iv'e been cutting off the tops to make them fuller. Now my question is will the top grow roots if i put them in a glass of water? they seem to be doing ok so far, or do I need to put root hormone on them and plant them in the soil? or are they garbage? thx

I like to put my cuttings into soil, and I rarely use rooting hormone. Most of the common annuals don't need it. Why not try both water and soil, and if you have rooting hormone on hand, try some with that too. No harm in experimenting before calling it garbage.
