I am really confused, Misting, Cloning, Aeroponics, Hydroponics

I am really new at growing plants. I have been trying to root some plants from cuttings. I ran onto the part of this forum about "propagation" and started reading the threads. That is where I got confused. Misting, Aeroponics and Hydroponics I think are all different methods of rooting plants, but not sure.

I watched a number of YouTube videos. I was looking for a simple diagram of how to build and what these systems do. I can build about anything if I know what it is supposed to do.

Let's take the "Misting System", it appears that water with some type of plant food is sprayed on the bottom of the cutting so that it will grow roots. I saw several methods of holding the plants in a lid above the water spray. It seems that the spray is not constant. Some containers had clear covers over the top of the plants.

So,

Does it need a clear top ?

Does the water need some type of nutrient ?

Does the water need to be kept warm ?

Do the misting nozzles stop up easy ?

Will a fish pond pump create enough pressure for the nozzles to produce spray ?

If I get some roots on the plants, do I plant them in dirt ?

I guess that is enough questions for now.
