Gunnera leaf cuttings?

I know that sounds like a bit of a joke--the leaves of some Gunneras can get 6 feet or more across. However, I've read that they can be propagated this way. Presumably the leaves are cut down in size a bit or smaller ones are used. Does anyone have experience with this or thoughts?

Have use seed and/or division to propagate this genus/species but cuttings have never worked for me.
