How did you attempt to propagate the persimmon cuttings? I have a fuyu and I attempted to root the dormant cuttings in water, but had not luck.

similar to how fig cuttings are rooted, but with little bit of help. i scraped and score the area where i want the roots to come out, dipped in clonex and put them in 16oz clear cup with drain hole. the soil mix is 1:1 seedling soil and perlite. the cuttings are in humidity bin along with mulberry, pom, and cherry cuttings. all of them broke bud, but not showing roots. it's been only 1.5 weeks.

i'm going to give a month before taking one and digging it out to see if there is any sign.

For persimmons, I believe you will have more luck airlayering this year's growth. That is what I am going to try this summer.

Did any of your persimmon cuttings finally rooted or ended up 'shoots but no roots'.
I have been reading about less than 10% rooting success with dormant persimmon cuttings (pencil size cuttings).
