| Hi! I need to know how to propagate Daphne. Last spring my aunt gave me a flowering branch off of one of her shrubs. I was able to identify it as Daphne mezereum (or Febuary Daphne). The Daphne shrub was my grandmothers, and id really like to be able to grow a start from it. Ive heard that it is difficult to propagate Daphne, but im willing to give it a try. Right now I have several new cuttings in a jar of water. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

| I start some every year. After the bloom and the new growth cycle is started I take tip cuttings. Use mist or tenting till roots are started and bottom heat will help. They start fairly easy but are slow with new growth after roots are formed. Once the foliage starts growing they are pretty fast from then on. Al |
