Red-flowered Current (Ribes sanguineum, I think)

When is the best time of year to propagate Currents from stem cuttings...particularly in the Pacific Northwest? My plant doesn't lend itself well to layering...how difficult are they to root from cuttings? I hope there's an easy method for the average home gardener.

Take cuttings of firm new growth apply 0.3% IBA (rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist taking 30-100 days to root.... bottom heat helpful.....
