Success with Cuttings

I just had to share my success with my first time attempting to root cuttings. I took seven cuttings from my mother-in-law's goldfish plant. I put them in a 50/50 mix of African Violet potting mix and perlite.

Of the seven, my cat managed to get ahold of and chew on four. One of those he completely destroyed. I put the remaining three back in the rooting medium to see what they would do since they already had a bit of root. Two are settled in the dirt and one of those has new growth. The third isn't settled in the dirt, but did still have root when I returned it to the rooting medium, so I'm hopeful it'll be okay.

The three that my cat didn't touch are all holding on to the medium and have a bit of new growth!

I am so excited and had to share!

Thank you! It's addicting, isn't it? I can already see myself going crazy.

I had the cuttings on the back of the sink and forgot about them. I should have known better. That cat will chew on anything he can reach.
