Caesalpinia pulcherrima

Hello - I'm new to this forum. I'm not sure if there are tropical gardeners on here. Does anyone have advice on progagating caesalpinia pulcherrima from cuttings? I have a 10-year old plant that I cut back every spring, but haven't had luck with rooting anything yet. Does anyone know the time of year/temperature to root these, or another suggestion for vegetative propagation? Thanks for any input you may have. I'm attaching a picture of this spectacular patio plant from last summer.

It looks like it's in the mimosa family, including the pod of seeds. Any luck on volunteer seedlings or even seedlings that you planted?

Otherwise, air layering may be worth a try.

I used to have one at the house I lived in just down the
street. I'm not sure if they will grow from cuttings, but I
have one growing from seed that I'm growing at the house
I live in now. I let the flowers go to becoming a seed pod,
then plant the seed.
