Let's say you are at a park or a friends house or someplace and you spot a perennial that you want to get a cutting or a leaf clipping off of. After making the cutting or clipping how much time do you have before it will be too late to try and root it? I am assuming that for woody perennials you would have longer than soft perennials, and that for leaf cuttings you would not have much time at all?
