Cordyline Question

So, I brought in one of those spikey Cordyline plants over the winter. The center died out...but, two side shoots are growing. Can I slice this thing down the center to make two new plants? It had a really big root ball when I brought it in last fall. Please help, Pet out.

I would take a close look at it and see if the two live shoots have separate crowns in the roots, if they do you should be able to split the roots as you contemplate. Al
