Take cuttings of firm new growth... apply 0.3 to 0.8% IBA (rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist rooting takes 20-40 days & another 60-90 days to have a plant large enough to set out.

I too am trying to propogate santolina from cuttings. Does it matter how large a cutting is taken? I tried some about 1.5 - 2" with hormone in sterile medium, outdoors in a tray, and they faded away. Thanks.
