After a bad storm, I had numerous stems from my copper king Hibiscus and a few from my giant Cone Flower (rudbeckia maxima). My questions is: which is the best method to create more plants with these....keep them in water to encourage more roots, then re-plant. OR...sprinkle rooting hormone on the ends and plant??

I've used root hormone in the past with success on the hibiscus...but I am curious about keeping them in water for more roots.
