Deciduous Holly Cuttings

I have been admiring a few holly plants in the city park for years, and wondering about trying to find someone to ask for cuttings when they prune, ( of course - thinking they would prune at the proper time). Today I drove by the park to find huge piles of cuttings and guys pruning trees and shrubs as if there was no tomorrow. I jumped out of the car and loaded up a few branches. Thought I would see if there was anything I could do. I realize this is prob. not the best time, but the branches were there and I thought I might as well try and see.

does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any hope for these? They have leaves on them and some of them have berries. Thanks in advance,

The best cuttings are of firm new growth (soft wood) apply 0.1 to 0.3% IBA (Rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist taking 40-80 days to root..... That said hardwood cuttings use 0.4-0.5% IBA & will take longer to root.
